The plan has already drawn interest from local housing advocates, who see it as a small but meaningful step toward easing Palo Alto's chronic housing shortage. The city has struggled to meet state-mandated housing targets, and projects like this one are seen as necessary to close the gap. However, some neighbors have expressed concerns about increased traffic and changes to the neighborhood's character.
